Hello!

So the Windmill gig went really well!

Its a really cool place, and you know what? I realized why its called the "Windmill"

Also. As you can see from the post added a few days ago, there's a big dog on the roof of the place!

Yes. This Sunday we're playing the Windmill in Brixton. Brixton..we have never played there before AND its on the other side of the river? Actually, come to think of it...have we ever played in South London? Maybe we have.

Anyway..instead of worrying about that I'll go get some coffee now.

Barfly ..part 3

We played at the Barfly in Camden last night..again.

Must be the 3rd time now in just a few months. It was good though..3 bands. First on was a band called the Zemitones and they were pretty good and a nice bunch, then us..we were (surprise) fantastic!

Last band was called the Ryco Saints and they were possibly the worst band I've ever seen, they cleared the venue pretty quickly though as most people headed downstairs as soon as they started their set.

After the gig we went back to the The Premises and drank beer for an hour or so..then I had a shower, a Valium..and got almost 5h sleep before the alarm went off. Sweet.

I forgot to mention that Reel Noice Records flew in from Norway to watch our gig at the Camden Barfly last Saturday. They are a nice bunch the Norvegians..

I know that it might look like I wrote it myself but I promise I didn't..for real.

"This band has so many things going for it, it's hard to

brash, edgy, sexy, confident, and displays the tough

of the Pretenders. Her voice is strong and confident

enough to cut through the band noise and ride atop the

guitar thrash going on underneath. If she has a stage

presence to match the voice, this act is really one to

The guitar playing is punchy, dynamic, and inventive in

both sound and technique. The guitarist knows how to

rock, but it's apparent he/she puts a lot of thought into

the playing as well, with a multitude of tasteful riffs,

Overall, the sound is fresh and betrays few obvious

influences. This helps Foxtrot remain original and stand

Finally, the songwriting is of a professional level. Lots of

LITTLE BOOTS AND HER FREE-BEES

So yes, we are rehearsing at the same place as "Little Boots"..okay?

Never seen her..(them?) but I do know where they store their stuff. Just.next.to.ours.

As she's doing pretty well right now, she can afford to ask for cool things on her rider...you know..fresh flowers, belly-dancers, midgets, food and..vodka.

No matter how rock'n roll you are (and I'm not saying that "Little Boots" isnt..) sometimes it's just not the right time to knock back a bottle of vodka, so I guess you then just take the bottle with you and keep it for next time, yeah?

So you put it in your locker..it might look like this:

..Very tempting for a poor Scottish bassplayer who's been out rocking and rolling with FOXTROT BRAVO for the whole night without getting anything on HIS rider..

CAMDEN BARFLY THIS SATURDAY

Hello,

This Saturday we're playing the Camden Barfly with "The Perils" and "Nylo"

We are on stage at 9.30 and the club is open until 3am.

-Screw you Pink Floyd..we're all going home!

If its 1am and the bar is about to close and you really fell like ruining the night for everyone, you can always go up to the jukebox and play "Shine on you crazy diamond" by Pink Floyd.

I did this on Sunday night.

I WAS aiming to go out in flames and play "She sells Sanctuary" by the Cult but the stupid, worthless piece of crap jukebox seriously took the piss and started to play the Pink Floyd song..

It was 13 minutes of pain and there was no way to cancel it.. Haven't been that embarrassed in a long time actually?!

  

Reading about compressors, noise gates, EQ's and Mics..

Its jungle my friends..a messy jungle, but oh the joy it brings!

1995 calling..

A while ago when we were rehearsing there was a cover-band in the room next door.

They were belting out the Skunk Anansie hit song "Weak", from the early 90s and it made me feel a bit tired.. I mean..c'mon? Really?

After rehearsal I noticed that the band next door actually was ....

That made feel even more tired.

Stalking the KLAXONS..

While the KLAXONS were safely tucked up in bed...or out on the town, getting drunk.

I managed to sneak into their studio and ogle their gear! Check out this pedal board?! -Pretty cool huh? I have ..four pedals, but one is a tuner so it doesn't really count. This guy has ..19!

One day....one day soon I'll get my 5th one!

 

After the gig..

The BMI Showcase went pretty well.

Except for a few things obviously but that's always the case. 

We had a bit of a weird start to the evening though..we arrived at the Cobden Club in Notting Hill and there was a stage, a sound-guy, another band sound checking, so when the band before us were done we started to set our gear up...cables, amps, drum kit, the whole thing. Its not FUN...really, its hard work.

Anyway, just as we are about to start playing a song there's this guy coming up and asks if we're Foxtrot Bravo? -Yeah?..

-You're in the wrong place. You're playing upstairs in the big club

-Doooooh..

We had to take all our stuff down, carry it to the second floor and start all over again.

Luckily I got this picture of a funny fish..

BMI Showcase

Hello!

Just found out that our set at the Cobden Club on Wednesday will be a rather short one..
We're playing 4 songs... That kinda sucks?!
So we're bringing all our gear, drums and bass amps to west London..and our gig will be approx 15 minutes. Oh the JOY!

I guess we could add a 'experimental new age' part to one of the songs and just..jam.. but theres nothing I dislike more than bands that jam ..ugh..I even dislike the word JAM.

If the Ramones or Guided by Voices were on the same bill their set would be 5-6 minutes so I guess if could be worse.

The day after..

...the gig..

Headache, full of cold, tiered after lifting heavy amps etc etc.

It was good though. Perhaps not AS good as I mentioned in a previous post "An Epic gig" or something like that...but still a good start and I have a sneaky feeling that the NEXT gig, at the BMI showcase, will be ....EPIC!

GIG at Zigfrid Von Underbelly..

I got the flyer for our gig at Zigfrid Von Underbelly on Wednesday so thought I'd better post it here.. We will be on stage at 9pm...and I have a feeling that it will be our best gig ever. No, its true..an Epic gig!

LOST

So..while the KLAXONS were busy polishing their Mercury Award next door, we spent 9 hours eating nuts and drinking wine waiting for the lovely Ben to arrive.
He never did and we haven't heard from him since.
Should probably call the police but will leave it until tonight..

Where can he be I wonder?
Anyone with information of his whereabouts can you please contact the local animal rescue service in Hackney!

We have a bassplayer!

So we've finally found a bassplayer...and he looks exactly like the guy on the picture above.
A handsome devil you might say!
His name is Ben and he used to play in bands like Serafin and A-Human. He talks his talk with a mighty Scottish accent!

We are currently rehearsing the set at the Premesis studios on Hackney Road and look forward to start gigging at the end of the month!

Foxtrot Bravo Photo-Shoot in Kentish town

So when first got there, John Hooper the photographer, was hanging out in large white room, playing around with some umbrellas. He didnt really give us a good reason as to why..even though it wasnt raining and we were inside.

I decided to play along with his twisted mind-games and didnt ask again.
















He also brought a very friendly assistant along to keep an eye of things..which he did, as you can see in the picture above.
















..and he was also helping out with some of the tricky stands and tripods!

















A guy called Michael came along to help out with make-up. Even if you cant see him here you CAN see all his make up gear. Some of us were very impressed.
















Those pretty flags in the picture didnt make themselves...Miss Molly the stylist did! She even brought her own sewing machine!

















...and tons of clothes. Liv was kitted out in a swanky red dress and lots of pretty pearls!
















..I was just reading a news-paper for most of the time.
For some reason I didnt get any pearls, no red dress and hardly any makeup. Not sure why but once again, I rolled with it and didnt complain.

















So, here's the flag in action. Looks good!?
And so it went on and on for about 5-6 hours more. I like Kentish Town!
